Pets Corner UK Ltd is a United Kingdom based retail store chain. It specializes in pet supplies including feed, accessories and treatments, and also some small animals, reptiles, and tropical and cold water fish. The company headquarters is in Crawley, West Sussex, United Kingdom. It has 97 stores across the UK. == History == A small pet shop called Pets Corner in Haywards Heath was purchased by Mark and Sandra Richmond in 1968. Within two years the business had relocated to the current South Road location and in 1982 a second store was opened in Hove; in 1992, a new garden centre concept store was opened in Brighton Many of the company’s current sales techniques were developed here during the 1990s and the early stages of forming the current Pets Corner brand. In 1998, Pets Corner UK Ltd bought the partnership from the original owners, at that time consisting of seven stores. With the agreement of Country Gardens CEO Nicholas Marshall, Pets Corner began opening garden centre concessions in 1999. In 2000, Country Gardens was bought by Wyevale and the expansion of Pets Corner garden centre concessions was temporarily halted. However, in 2008 when Nicholas Marshall became CEO of Wyevale, expansion of Pets Corner concessions into Wyevale garden centres (now The Garden Centre Group) was quickly resumed. During this time between 2000 and 2008, twenty one stores opened and three independent pet shops were acquired. Breaking away from garden centre concessions and marking a new format for Pets Corner stores, the first standalone store was opened in West Hove in 2007. Shortly after in 2009 the Bournemouth standalone store was acquired and part let to The Pet Practice Veterinary Surgery.
